How do you know when it’s time to ask for help

How do you know when it’s time to ask for help? Maybe you have been realizing you are in a rut and struggling a lot lately. Maybe you want to change but are unsure how or where to start. It’s normal to struggle and feel down sometimes, but maybe it’s not just been sometimes for you lately, maybe it’s been a weekly or even daily struggle.

When is it time to ask for outside help?

I’ve had many times in my healing journey where I have been struggling and I didn’t know how to get the help I needed. Sometimes talking to friends wasn’t enough. They might not have been able to hear and support me in the way I needed. I didn’t have anyone to go to, so I just isolated and stayed stuck in my struggle.

After a while, I started to hear about some people in my church who did counseling or one-on-ones outside of church and I decided to approach a few of them to see if they could help. It took me a while to feel comfortable sharing deep things with these women, but once I started to feel safe, they became my go-to people. I started paying for counseling and help and I got even more fruit out of it.

If you are struggling more than you are thriving, it’s time to ask for help

If you are struggling more than you are thriving, it’s time to ask for help. Friend, your life should not be full of feeling tired, exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, worried, or even depressed. If you spend 50 percent of your days worrying about what’s going to happen in your marriage, with your kids, with your relationships, or with your job, then it’s time to seek help.

You were meant to live alive and full! God’s heart for us is to be full to overflowing with joy and peace. It’s normal to have seasons where we are down or struggling a bit more. But if it’s been an ongoing struggle and you’ve isolated rather than sought help, it’s time to ask for the help you need.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

If you’re struggling and not sure how to get out, my advice is to look for the people who know just a little bit more than you do and you feel safe with them. It’s hard to open up about things that are hard and painful, but I promise it’s worth getting the help.

Don’t be afraid to talk to someone or ask someone you know to meet with you. If you don’t have anyone you can easily go to, it’s okay to pay for help. Talking with a counselor or life coach who has more experience and tools to assist you in navigating through pain is going to get you out of that rut and back to feeling yourself again.

Not sure where to find a life coach? I just launched my 12-week coaching program where I meet one-on-one with you for one hour each week and we help you get to the root of your struggle and back to your full self again.
